The message of cleanliness was an idea and an inception that was carried out throughout the life of Mahatma Gandhiji. Our Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi too emphasizes on Swaachta Abhiyan in each and every corner of the country. And since Cleanliness is next to Godliness and to spead this message amoung our enthusiastic students, the Hindi Teachers Mrs. Sunita Raut and Mrs. Rekha Sharma encouraged the students of Class 5 to 10 to participate in the Shramdaan activity of cleaning their own classroom, cupboards, desk and benches and passage on the forthcoming occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. The students participated in this activity whole-heartedly. The children left no stone unturned and cleaned every possible corners and edges of windows and passages. The children tried to reach and clean even the fans and ceiling, some even mopped the floor fantastically. Teachers also participated along with students thus setting an example for their young followers. It was also announced that every month end, the school will organize Cleanliness Drive with different themes and ideas to ensue the idea of hygiene at all levels. In order to appreciate and recognize the efforts of the students, the prize – ‘Noel Cleanliness Drive Award’ was announced for the Class Teacher and the Students’ Representative. This award was given to Standard 9th – Quebec, Class Teacher –Jayshri Shegokar and Students’ Representative – Master Madhavrao Sonone in the Gandhi Jayanti celebration held on 1st of October, 2018.
