What Is The Study Pattern In The School ?

There is more focus on study in the school apart from various other activities and sports. Right from Nursery the school prepares the child in English language and sets high goals at every level for study patterns. Equal stress is given for speaking and writing skills. HW is given regularly to help child to revise and understand the taught portion in a better way. Tests, Worksheets, Unit Tests / Formative Assessments are conducted regularly apart from Term Exams to help parents understand their child\\\’s progress. In some classes dictation tests and objective tests are also conducted.

The school prepares the children in acquiring the basic skills and knowledge of all the subjects at every level. However the school does not conduct extra classes for competitive exams or other exams as there is limitation of time and hence parents are required to arrange for extra coaching for these exams at other places. The school may arrange classes for some of these exams in favourable conditions.

There Are Lot Of Complaints Regarding Discipline About My Child In The School. What Should Parents Do?

Many parents present the opinion that their child is not like what the teacher or the Principal tells.Parents must understand that their child will not show his natural behaviour at home among his / her family members as he / she is aware of the setting and members present around him / her who are observing him /  her subjectively. There are many factors affecting the child’s behaviour. Parents may not be aware of these different factors which are affecting their child from time to time. The child also hides his problems and problem areas from the parents many a times.

Many parents know the natural behaviour and personality traits of their child and cooperate with the teachers and school for implementing corrective measures on right time.

Teachers and the staff of school observe the child from time to time in his / her natural spirit. The child is unaware about the fact that somebody is watching him or her all the time. Teachers observe all the children and tell the children to know what is right and what is good for them. However when a child does not follow these instructions and continues to create problems affecting the classroom or overall discipline of the school or troubles other children, it becomes necessary to report these things to the parents. Here parents must understand the problem and take corrective measures for the child’s improvement and development in the right way. Parents must show faith in teachers and school. Teachers and management always want all the children to be ideal personalities in the future. Teacher’s work is to find the faults and encourage the child to learn the correct ways. Parents must also help in this cause.

Parents of kids studying in Classes 8 to 10 must pay special attention towards their child’s friend circle and keenly monitor their child’s activities and specially outdoor activities. Often children learn unwanted things from their friends which are not known to parents.Children must not have friends elder to them, as they might transfer unwanted things not suitable for your child at his / her age.

What Is Parent’s Role In Child’s Study?

Parents can only guide and help child to complete his home work on time. They must check that the child completes his work in good handwriting and presentation. They can ask some questions based on the self-study of the child. Parents must ensure that the students read textbooks before doing the home work everyday and then only completes her home work. Parents must check the school diary for HW given by teachers and Teacher’s remark about HW or other discipline related remarks. Meet teachers regularly atleast once in a month to help understand the challenges faced by the teacher about your child and share the child’s problems with the teacher, so that this interaction of parents and teachers will have right corrective measures being implemented in school and also at home simultaneously resulting in progress of the child. Parents must provide all the material for the projects but not help directly in making the project.

Should parents consider Tuition Classes for their child ?

We strongly oppose the concept of Tuition Classes conducted by Private Tutors and Teachers. The school\’s education policy is such that Classroom teaching is self-sufficient for the learning of the students. Students must focus and pay attention in the classroom. Students must take interest in all the subjects in the school and classroom. Students must clear their concepts and ask questions to their teachers in the class and prepare for their studies. Self-Study plays the key role for success in long term. The child has to learn to be independant at all stages from Class 1 onwards. The child should not be dependant on parents for studies. Encourage the child to do her studies on her own right from Nursery. If the child learns to manage this part, the child can manage all other tasks assigned to him in the future by teachers and parents.

If a child cannot learn the subjects taught in the class in 6 hours, then what can a child do in tuition classes conducted for 1 or 2 hours. Isn\’t this sentence worth giving a thought? Parents must think about this.Instead the parents can encourage the child to learn and enjoy many other activities, sports and hobbies.

What Is The Age Preferred At Nursery Stage Admission?

Noel School prefers the age of atleast 3 years or more (upto quarter to 4 years) for admission to Nursery. Admissions of children of age 2.5 years is prohibited. The government also uphold the age of 6 years at Std. 1st level and hence the age of 3 years at the entry stage of Nursery is necessary. At Noel School, Nursery course includes writing skiils which cannot be managed by younger children. In many schools only play way method is implemented, whereas we believe that the Pre-Primary Classes are the base and foundation for studies from Class 1 to 10. Study habits formed at Pre-Primary level are very crutial for development of child at higher levels. Parents are also required to pay special attention right from Nursery to develop correct study habits and focus on all basic skills which are taught in these pre-primary classes.

Parents should not request for admission of under-age children?

How should parents decide for the right school?Parents must understand the level of their child before admission in any school. They must understand the school policies for education and the expectations from the children. The school\’s pocily of imparting education and training vary from school to school and hence the parents must enquire about the school\’s education policy and training methodology from other parents and sources and then only approach the correct school for admission. When should parents approach the school for admissions?Parents may approach the school for admission in the month of February (Starting) for Nursery and by 15th of February for LKG and higher classes. Admissions are granted on first come first serve basis. Preference is given to the siblings of the existing students and students who studied in this school previously and wishing for re-admission.
